The PHYS508 Night Sky Institute spectroscopy equipment was located next to the Pine Mountain Observatory 32 inch telescope dome.

Not shown in the above photo is the netbook computer that was used for for star charts, camera control and screen captures of spectrum graphs.

1200lines/mm Spectroscopy Telescope

Borg 60mmED, 1200 lines/mm spectrograph was used for median resolution spectrums of the sky, Moon, planets and bright stars. This 60mmED spectrograph is upgrade of the 40mmED spectrograph.

  • No guide camera and no guide telescope.
  • Mount: Astro-Physics Mach1GTO German Equatorial Mount with GTOCP3 Control Box.

Rainbow Optics Diffraction Spectroscopy Telescope

Rainbow Optics 200 lines/mm diffraction grating spectroscope was used for low resolution spectrums of stars and qusars.

  • Telescope: Orion Argonaut™ 150mm Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope, f/12 focal ratio, 1800mm focal length.
  • Finder: Orion Black 9x50 Right-Angle Correct-Image Finder Scope.
  • 1X Finder: Orion EZ Finder Deluxe Telescope Reflex Sight.
  • Guide camera: Meade Deep Sky Imager PRO.
