The Lhires III spectrograph micrometer was adjusted in increments of 0.50 while taking spectrum images of the morning blue sky.
There is about 50% overlap of the images when using micrometer increments of 0.50 and using the Sony NEX-6 camera.
If there is an absorption line in the center of the image then in the previous smaller micrometer setting it will be in the right side of the image and the following larger micrometer setting it will be in the left side of the image.
The short wavelengths are on the left side of the spectrum image and the longer wavelengths are on the right side of the spectrum image.
Micrometer setting 13.0 is the shortest wavelength, larger micrometer settings are the longer wavelengths.
The
Sony NEX-6 camera sensitivity decreases rapidly in the blue short wavelengths and slowly in the red long wavelengths.
